Show “Dead weight (presences)” and performance in Italy
Through the support of Performance ART TV, Francesca Fini and Paola Michela Mineo, together with Klaus Mondrian and the Mondrian Suite Gallery in Rome, INVE, the Experimental Arts Platform, will hold an exhibition of works entitled “Dead weight (presences)”, compound:
-“The beginning of the weight” (The beginning of the weight). Dir. Daniela Lillo, Bárbara Trejo, Aluminé Saléss, Carlos Oyarzún Espinoza, Magali Ayala.
-“Letter to Boris” (Letter to Boris). Dir. Pablo Molina Guerrero.
Curatorial text:
"Look at yourself and your whole life in a mirror and you will see death at work," wrote Jean Cocteau. Both videos represent two facets of death, in "The beginning of the weight", a woman seeks to locate the immobile, sustain the journey, not forget, raise timeless presences. In “Letter to Boris”, a man recounts a friendship with images of empty spaces, from time to time ghostly images appear of a body that is no longer present. In both, the authors try to transport a life from one place to another, but every cinematographic act is a phantasmagoria and bodies are always phantoms even if their real referents are alive.
In addition, the director of INVE will carry out an unprecedented performance entitled “The pieces of my mothers”, which will be broadcast via streaming through the Performance ART TV platform.
The event will be held on Tuesday, November 28 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., at the Mondrian Suite Gallery, Rome, Italy. Facebook event here.
