5th INVE EXPERIMENT 2018

5º INVE EXPERIMENT, is a Creative Experimental Video Residency that took place between April 17 and 22, 2018 in Colliguay, Valparaíso region, Chile, within the framework of PROCESO DE ERROR, 5º International Festival of Experimental Video. 

INVE EXPERIMENT seeks to motivate the realization of experimental works, as well as to promote the creation of a network between filmmakers from different territories and the dissemination of their works. The objective of the call is to bring together filmmakers to create in situ video clips of individual authorship, supporting themselves collectively if they need it and, during this version, with the feedback of the tutor Roberto Doveris, prominent Chilean filmmaker.

SELECTED ARTISTS:

JUANA SOLASSI

Audiovisual producer based in the city of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she founded and directs the content production company El Hábito Audiovisual since 2015. Within this group, she has established herself as director and cinematographer of different short-format audiovisual works, such as short films, spots and, mainly, video clips, some of which have aired on television channels such as Vh1 or MuchMusic.

SANTIAGO COLOMBO MIGLIORERO

Independent sculptor and animator. From an early stage of his career, he became interested in video animation and began to make his first forays into this medium in a self-taught way, and taking some courses locally. His interest grows and he begins to make short films independently, several of which are screened at various film and animation festivals in Argentina and Latin America (BAFICI, FestiFreak, Fesaalp, BIM, Animarte Brasil, among others).

FELIPE TELLO GONZÁLEZ

He studied at the Arcis University Film School with a mention in Screenwriting, where he worked as a screenwriter, director, producer and editor of short films in 16 mm and digital format. As of 2010, on his return to Antofagasta, he begins to experiment in the audiovisual world, where he creates various Capsules, Micro Documentaries, Spots and TV Programs, Experimental Video Art, Motion Graphics and Stop Motion. During 2017, he participates as Editor and Post Producer of the International Festival of Viña del Mar. Since 2016 he is Artistic Director at the independent production company "Quajo", whose objective is to capture and disseminate the unconventional art of northern Chile through audiovisual pieces. .

MARÍA PAZ BASSO

Chilean photographer. In her visual work we find the portrait and the landscape as recurrent elements, topics through which she will investigate her imaginary to articulate micro-narratives, with a marked cinematographic aesthetic. In 2014, she participated in the Chacal Lab audiovisual residency in Valparaíso and in two versions of the Contra el tiempo audiovisual residency (2015-2016) in the city of Valdivia. In 2017, within the framework of the 13th Biennial of New Media, she won second place with the nanofilm “Los Espejos Sonámbulos” in the nanofilm competition “Unfinished projects, first Vicente Huidobro nanofilm competition”, Vicente Huidobro Foundation.

JAVIER SINCLAIR

Chilean photographer. MARCELA RODRÍGUEZ

Audiovisual producer from the north of the country who has experimented and shown curiosity for the different audiovisual formats such as short films, experimental video, animation, analog and digital photography and other arts such as literature in branches such as poetry, speeches and essays and in the arts. visuals such as collage and photomontage.

The works carried out delve into the themes of self-discovery, freedom, fear and violence, all with subtexts that point to social criticism through an aesthetic that has transcended in all the works.

MARÍA JOSÉ DE LOS ÁNGELES GUTIERREZ

Translator and teacher of English, post-producer project and self-taught cartoonist, all her audiovisual work is fed by her illustrations that describe her experiences with her own mythology inspired by the Spanish Baroque and Catholicism and as a framework, her adolescence and her search for the royal god. For You is the name of her audiovisual project, it is about art, fashion and music in which she participates as an actress, camerawoman, editor or art director, this project has been carried out together with other artist friends who help her realize her ideas and they inspire you.

SOFÍA OPORTOT

Graduated in Theater Acting from the Arcis University, she has worked as a theater, film and television actress. At the same time, she has worked in editorial, fashion and audiovisual production, in the dissemination of cultural projects and brands. She has also consolidated a career as a singer, lyricist and co-director of her audiovisual pieces, such as the video clips of: "Total Destruction" and "Single Woman" by QuieroStar, among others. She is the vocalist, director and lyricist of the groups QuieroStar and Lulu Jam, she has also made a parallel career as a soloist.
