VORTICE 2017, 3rd Experimental Video Laboratory

Vórtice is an experimental video laboratory aimed at filmmakers interested in deepening and expanding their artistic possibilities in the audiovisual field. For this 3rd version, two meetings were organized, one in Colliguay in August and the other in Chiloé during September 2017, where the participants had the opportunity to work on their projects and creative processes in a natural environment, together with other outstanding artists and specialists in this field. video branch.

In each period, different themes and approaches were addressed. The first took place from August 5 to 13 in Colliguay, V Region, and had as its line of work "The body and symbols within the experimental video", while the second period was in Chiloé, from September 9 to 17. , and worked around "The pulse, animated materials and ways of projecting the work."

Vórtice received nearly 40 participants from different parts of the world to participate in its laboratories, which featured workshops, personalized advice, viewing of works, and individual and collective work days in which attendees could think and develop their visual arguments, treatments aesthetics and coherence of the production stages.

This meeting between experimental video artists sought, as in previous years, to promote the connection of professional networks between filmmakers from different disciplines and interests, expanding their references, tools and knowledge around video art, generating creative and productive alliances.

The experimental video laboratory Vórtice was financed by the Audiovisual Fund of the CNCA, call 2017 and organized by INVE, Experimental Arts Platform.
